Zelenskyy and Trump's envoy Kellogg discuss sanctions, weapons and air defence in Rome

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has discussed sanctions on Russia and military aid to Ukraine, especially air defence, at a meeting in Rome with Keith Kellogg, US President Donald Trump's Special Envoy for Ukraine.

Details: Zelenskyy said he and Kellogg had discussed the supply of weapons and the strengthening of air defence given the increase in Russian attacks.

Zelenskyy and Kellogg also talked about sanctions pressure on Russia, particularly tougher restrictions on the Russian energy sector.

Background: Zelenskyy and Kellogg’s meeting took place after the US initially paused the supply of some weapons to Ukraine and then announced the resumption of supplies after President Trump said that Ukraine needs weapons given the increase in Russian attacks.
