Chinese ambassador: China will continue efforts to establish peace in Ukraine

Chinese Ambassador to Ukraine Ma Shengkun has stated that China understands the challenges the Ukrainian people are facing and will continue to make efforts to achieve a ceasefire and peace.

Details: Ma added that China is ready, together with the international community, to continue making efforts to achieve a ceasefire and the swiftest possible conclusion of a fair, lasting and binding peace agreement.

Speaking about Ukrainian-Chinese relations, he emphasised that countries have been strategic partners for 33 years and their economies "complement each other excellently".

Ukrinform noted that Ma in his speech had not mentioned Russia as the country that launched the brutal war against Ukraine and caused the "challenges" he referred to. Meanwhile, Ma did not refer to the "Ukrainian crisis", as Russia's aggression against Ukraine is usually called in China.
