Russian forces attempted to break through near Stepove in Zaporizhzhia Oblast

Colonel Vladyslav Voloshyn, spokesman for the Defence Forces of Ukraine's South, has reported that Russian troops had attempted to attack Ukrainian positions near the village of Stepove in Zaporizhzhia Oblast twice on 2 October, including using motorcycles, but the defence forces have repelled the assaults.

Details: Voloshyn said that Russian troops concentrated forces near the village of Zherebianky of Zaporizhzhia Oblast and now plan assaults towards the village of Lukianivske.
Quote: "There were already two assaults this morning on the settlement of Stepove, and in one of these clashes the enemy even attempted a mass attack on motorcycles, using six vehicles."
More details: The colonel added that Russian forces tried to break into the settlement and take over Ukrainian positions but Ukraine's defence forces destroyed the Russian motorcyclists and equipment.
Background:
- DeepState, a Ukrainian group of military analysts, reported on 20 September that Russian occupation forces had advanced on three fronts in Zaporizhzhia, Dnipropetrovsk and Donetsk oblasts.
