Quote: "This residential area has been left without gas and electricity."
Details: Prokudin said that specialist employees had carried out a technical inspection of the gas pipeline and the bridge that connects the district with other parts of the city. However, it is not possible to restore the gas supply due to security risks, as heavy machinery is required for the work.
"Without heavy machinery, restoration of the gas supply is impossible. There is no electricity, but we are continuing with repair works. It's a very difficult process due to the constant threat of Russian attacks," Prokudin said.
Over 1,700 people have been evacuated, including 56 children and 171 people with reduced mobility, following Russian airstrikes on the bridge linking the Korabel residential area, which is located on an island, to the rest of the city.
"At present, about 200 residents remain in the dangerous residential area, but there are no children among them. The humanitarian situation is difficult," Prokudin said.
Background:
- Earlier, it was reported that the Korabel residential area of Kherson had once again been cut off from the power grid following the latest Russian attack.
- The water situation is rapidly deteriorating in the temporarily occupied part of Kherson Oblast: groundwater levels have dropped, crop yields have plummeted, and the Russian occupation authorities are taking no action.
