Europe must "take seriously" the existential threat posed by Russia, says Ukrainian Deputy Foreign Minister Serhii Kyslytsia.

Details: Kyslytsia expects Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin to "escalate escalating" without a decisive response from Europe and the US.

Kyslytsia's view is that the Kremlin is already at war with Europe.

He said that the recent incursions of Russian drones into several EU countries were well-calculated and were an attempt to "move the red lines".

"I'm sure Putin gets emotional if not physical satisfaction humiliating the west by showing what he perceives as his super-strength," Kyslytsia said.

He added that the Kremlin leader's reckless actions risk provoking hostility from the White House, which appears to have cooled towards him.

Kyslytsia said European leaders have generally woken up to the threat, but he added that many others – including experts and professionals in Western Europe – have not yet realised it.

He went on to say that more educational work is needed to spread information in the face of a ruthless and "unscrupulous adversary".

"Many politicians are still keeping in their heads in the patterns and algorithms of the last century... In the 21st century you don't need tanks to put technologically advanced countries on their knees. Cyberwar is a reality. Howitzers are not necessary to paralyse the banking system. By using drones in a smart way you can achieve your goals better than with a nuclear bomb," Kislitsa said.

Background: After Russian drones invaded Poland, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk emphasised on social media that the spread of Russian propaganda and disinformation is detrimental to the Polish state.
