President of Moldova Maia Sandu has called for increased and faster assistance to Ukraine following Russia's latest attacks.

Background:
- Earlier, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen described as "shocking" the footage from the Shostka railway station in Sumy Oblast, where Russian forces attacked passenger trains.
- On the night of 4-5 October, Russia launched more than 50 missiles and around 500 attack drones against Ukraine targeting Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Zaporizhzhia, Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Kherson, Odesa and Kirovohrad oblasts.
- At least five people were killed and another 10 injured.
- President Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasised that Russian forces were targeting essential civilian infrastructure and urged Ukraine's allies to provide stronger air defences.
