Russian drone attack sparks fire in Kyiv high-rise, 12 people injured – videos

A fire has broken out in a 17-storey residential building in the city of Kyiv following a Russian drone attack. People have been evacuated from the scene, with 12 injured.

Quote from Tkachenko: "We have received information about debris from downed drones falling in several locations."

Details: Tkachenko noted that debris from a downed Russian drone had been found in a courtyard in the Podilskyi district.

"We are checking the situation at the scene regarding other effects."

Updated: Early reports from Tkachenko indicated that a six-storey residential building in the Pecherskyi district had been damaged in the attack.

Quote from Tkachenko: "No reports of casualties so far."

Details: In addition, facades of two residential buildings and two cars were damaged in the Holosiivskyi district.

Klitschko said that debris from a UAV hit a residential building in the Pecherskyi district, causing a fire on several floors.

Updated: Tkachenko later confirmed that a fire had broken out in a 17-storey building in the capital as a result of the drone attack.

Quote from Tkachenko: "Update from the Pecherskyi district: a fire broke out on the fifth and sixth floors of a 17-storey building due to the attack. Several apartments were damaged. People are being evacuated."

Details: At 02:33, Klitschko reported that two people had been injured in the Pecherskyi district. One has been taken to hospital and the other received medical treatment at the scene.

Later, Klitschko said that five people had been injured in total in the capital.

It was later confirmed that nine people had been injured.

Tkachenko also said that debris from a downed Russian drone had been found on the premises of an outpatient clinic in the Desnianskyi district, but no fire occurred.

At 03:49, Klitschko announced that the fire on several floors of the high-rise building hit by UAV debris in the Pecherskyi district had been extinguished.

Updated: At around 08:00, the mayor reported that the number of those injured had risen to 12. Eight of them are in hospital and four are receiving outpatient care.

Later, Tkachenko added that as of 10:00, over 5,800 residential buildings (apartment blocks and houses) had remained without power.

Quote from Tkachenko: "The number is dynamic, and services are working to restore power. Residential areas, especially on the left bank, are also without power. The water supply situation is also difficult here. On the right bank, there is a widespread absence of electricity and water in the Holosiivskyi, Solomianskyi and Pecherskyi districts. In other districts, there are isolated pockets of outages. We are recording a drop in pressure in the water supply networks almost everywhere."
