The Special Operations Centre Alpha of the Security Service of Ukraine (SSU) launched long-range drones on the morning of 11 October, striking the Bashneft-Ufa Oil Refinery in the Russian city of Ufa in the Republic of Bashkortostan, some 1,400 kilometres from Ukraine.

Details: Firefighting crews have arrived at the site following explosions at the refinery, and a column of smoke has been seen rising above the facility.

Early reports suggest the strike has caused a fire near the ELOU-AVT-6 crude oil processing unit.

This is the third strike in Bashkortostan in the past 30 days. The Ufa refinery supplies fuel to Russian military forces.
