Ukrainian delegation travels to Washington to discuss air defence and new sanctions

A Ukrainian delegation led by Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko and including Rustem Umierov, Secretary of the National Security and Defence Council, and Andrii Yermak, Head of the President's Office, is heading to the United States.

• defence: strengthening Ukraine's air defence and strike capabilities
• energy: boosting Ukraine's resilience ahead of winter
• sanctions: increasing pressure on the aggressor

Background: President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced the visit on 9 October, noting that the discussions would focus on air defence, energy, sanctions, and the negotiation process. The issue of frozen Russian assets will also be on the table.
