Ukraine's Defence Intelligence releases video of strike that killed Russian general's son

Ukraine's Defence Intelligence has released exclusive footage showing its special forces killing Russian lieutenant Vasily Marzoyev with an air-dropped bomb. Marzoyev was the son of Lieutenant General Arkady Marzoyev, who has been implicated in war crimes against civilians in Kherson.

Details: DIU said that on 15 October, UAV operators from its Department of Active Operations detected a Russian drone unit near the village of Plavni in the Vasylivka district of Zaporizhzhia Oblast.

Using the coordinates obtained by intelligence, Ukrainian forces struck with a guided aerial bomb. The group of Russian troops at the position at the time included Vasily Marzoyev, a platoon commander in the 108th Air Assault Regiment of the 7th Air Assault Division of the Russian Armed Forces. All of them were killed.

DIU reported that Vasily Marzoyev was the son of Lieutenant General Arkady Marzoyev, commander of the 18th Combined Arms Army of the Southern Military District of the Russian Armed Forces, who has been involved in war crimes against civilians in Kherson.
