The First Separate Medical Battalion has carried out a unique evacuation operation using a ground robotic system (GRS), successfully extracting a wounded soldier and providing him with medical care.

Details: As part of HVER operation, the battalion made seven attempts to evacuate the soldier from the battlefield, six of which were unsuccessful. The unit said that 33 days had passed since the severe injury and the application of the tourniquet. During the operation, six GRS were lost, four of them belonging to neighbouring units. Only on the seventh attempt was it possible to take the wounded soldier out of the Russian-controlled settlement.
The evacuation itself lasted 5 hours 58 minutes. During this time, the drone covered 64 km, 37 km of that with a damaged wheel, at an average speed of 13 km/h and a maximum speed of 29 km/h.
On the way to the wounded soldier, the GRS hit an anti-personnel mine but managed to continue moving on the damaged wheel. The drone was also struck by a munition dropped from a UAV, but the wounded soldier was not hurt thanks to the armoured capsule.
Quote: "The soldier was evacuated and received the necessary medical care. He is now continuing treatment at the next stage and his life is not in danger."
More details: For the evacuation, the medical battalion used a wheeled MAUL GRS, capable of speeds of up to 70 km/h and fitted with a capsule to accommodate the wounded person.

From an engineering standpoint, the GRS is built on a quadbike base and has a diesel internal combustion engine. The drone can also be fitted with several communications options. The cost of one MAUL is from UAH 1 million (US$23,765) to UAH 1.5 million (US$35,648).
Previously: The Zmii Lohistychnyi drone evacuated a wounded soldier after withstanding a mine blast and an FPV drone attack. It managed to take the serviceman out from the line of contact, with the enemy only 20 metres away.
