Update at 10:11: NABU confirmed that together with SAPO, it is conducting a "major operation to expose corruption in the energy sector".
"Fifteen months of work and 1,000 hours of audio recordings. Activities of a high-level criminal organisation have been documented," NABU said.
Investigators have uncovered a large-scale corruption scheme influencing strategic state-owned companies, including Energoatom.
Background:
- NABU detectives also conducted searches at the home of Tymur Mindich, a businessman and co-owner of Kvartal 95, the Ukrainian production company Volodymyr Zelenskyy founded before he became president.
- According to Ukrainska Pravda sources, Mindich left Ukraine just hours before the searches on 10 November.
