Social media users suggested that Stavrolen may have been the target of the attack and claimed there had been "three precise strikes".

Later, local authorities asserted that Russian air defences had repelled "an attack by Ukrainian drones" over the Budyonnovsky district of Stavropol Krai.

Vladimirov wrote that debris from supposedly downed drones had caused a fire in an industrial area.

He did not provide details about the scale of the fire or any other information.

For reference: Stavrolen is one of Russia's leading petrochemical businesses, located in Budyonnovsk in Stavropol Krai. The company produces polyethylene, polypropylene, benzene, butylene-butadiene fraction, heavy petroleum resins and other petrochemical products. It is a subsidiary of Russian energy giant Lukoil.
