Details: Shmyhal did not name the manufacturers whose products the Defence Ministry had officially approved, but noted that the new rounds will allow Ukrainian troops to counter Russian FPV drones and Mavic UAVs more effectively.

Their key feature is a special warhead that significantly increases the chances of shooting down a Russian drone. In addition, no separate launcher is required, as standard weapons can be loaded with these rounds.

Quote: "We are working to ensure that even more new and effective weapons appear in the arsenal of our troops in order to strengthen their combat capability and Ukraine's defence."

Background: Ukrainian troops are also using the Ptashka net-launcher to counter Russian FPV drones. The device looks like a pistol with a cartridge mounted on the barrel. When fired, a net is deployed in the air, disabling the UAV's propellers.
