Details: Svyrydenko said the programme is worth US$8.2 billion over four years. It is expected to help fund critical expenditures, maintain macroeconomic and financial stability and attract additional external support, which will be critically important for Ukraine in the coming years.

"The agreement is still subject to approval by the IMF Executive Board," she noted.

Speaking about Ukraine's cooperation with the IMF, Svyrydenko also pointed out that, firstly, the IMF has acknowledged the resilience of the Ukrainian economy. "Despite strikes on energy and infrastructure, our economy continues to function and Ukraine demonstrates the ability to manage risks and maintain stability under the most difficult conditions," she said.

Secondly, she noted that the Ukrainian government has prepared the 2026 budget in line with the framework of the new IMF programme, with an emphasis on the efficiency of every hryvnia spent. "We count on the support of Members of Parliament during the vote on the budget as a whole," Svyrydenko said.

She also said that the country continues on its reform path, "Our priorities remain unchanged: macroeconomic stability, debt sustainability, transparency and strong institutions. We are committed to further implementing policies to combat the shadow economy, counter corruption and strengthen governance in the public sector. This includes the ongoing reset of corporate governance in state-owned enterprises and the open competition for the Head of Customs."
