Details: On 1 December, Telegram channel Astra cited local residents who reported an explosion in Kaspiysk during a drone attack. The blast occurred near the Dagdizel shipbuilding plant, which manufactures naval underwater weapons for Russia's navy. Dagestan head Sergei Melikov later confirmed a drone attack.
Quote from Melikov: "Today [1 December] an attack by enemy drones was prevented in our republic. Aerial assets have been shot down over Kaspiysk. Emergency services are on site, and all authorities are operating as an emergency response team."
More details: Melikov did not report the consequences of the attack but said that the authorities are doing "everything necessary for the safety of citizens and facilities".
He also reminded the residents that Dagestan has a ban on publishing information "about terrorist attacks, UAV strikes by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the deployment of defence ministry forces and the location of critical infrastructure".
Astra later published photos and video from Kaspiysk, saying windows and parked cars have been damaged near a residential building about 3.5 kilometres from the Dagdizel plant.
