Trump's envoy Witkoff expected at Kremlin on Tuesday

The Kremlin has announced that a meeting between Russian ruler Vladimir Putin and US President's Special Envoy Steve Witkoff to discuss the parameters of a potential peace agreement to end the Russo–Ukrainian war is scheduled for Tuesday 2 December.

Details: Peskov said that the meeting between Putin and Witkoff is planned for the second half of the day on Tuesday.
"The meeting with Witkoff is planned for tomorrow. He himself has said so… Today the president will hold several non-public meetings as part of preparations for the Russian–American contacts," he said. [N.B. Ukrainska Pravda does not recognise Putin as president – ed.]
Background:
- Earlier, US media reported that Witkoff – and possibly Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner – were already travelling to Moscow for talks on Monday 1 December.
- On the evening of 30 November, talks were held between Trump's team and the Ukrainian delegation regarding the peace plan. US media have begun publishing details about the nearly five-hour meeting and the subjects discussed.
- After being briefed on the meeting, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said there was constructive progress in the negotiations, while US President Donald Trump again spoke of a "chance for a deal".
