A gas pipeline caught fire and at least two people were injured due to the explosion of a Russian drone near a residential building in the city of Chernihiv on the night of 7-8 December.

A gas pipeline caught fire at the scene. Emergency services are working to deal with the aftermath.

Updated: The State Emergency Service wrote that three people had been injured, one of whom was hospitalised, as a result of a Russian drone falling in Chernihiv.

A high-rise residential building in the city was damaged. Emergency services have extinguished the gas fire.

Background:

  • On the night of 7-8 December, Russian forces attacked the Okhtyrka hromada in Sumy Oblast with drones, hitting a high-rise residential building and injuring seven civilians.
