Odesa under large-scale Russian attack: power and water supply cut off almost everywhere

Odesa came under a large-scale combined Russian attack on the night of 12-13 December, with local residents reporting power outages across most of the city.

Details: According to media reports, the Russians are attacking with strike drones and missiles; explosions were heard in various districts of the city.
Dumska adds that electricity and water supply, as well as heating, have disappeared "practically throughout the entire city".
Odesa Oblast Military Administration has not yet reported on the aftermath but says air defence is operating and urges residents to stay in safe places.
As of the morning, the air-raid warning has been in effect for four hours.
Updated: Later, the oblast military administration reported details of the attack, calling it "one of the largest-scale air attacks by the enemy".
The authorities report damage to civilian facilities, as well as energy and industrial infrastructure.
Quote: "Fires broke out as a result of the strikes; administrative buildings and energy facilities were damaged. Emergency services are working to deal with the aftermath. In some districts of the oblast, power outages are being recorded.
Early reports indicate two people have been injured. No information about fatalities has been received.
Given that the air attack is ongoing, I urge residents of the oblast not to ignore air-raid warnings and to stay in safe places."
Background:
- On 12 December, Russian forces struck Odesa and the oblast with ballistic missiles and drones. As a result of the attack, a civilian vessel was damaged in the port of Chornomorsk and one person was injured.
- Türkiye's Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed concern after a vessel belonging to a Turkish company was damaged in the Ukrainian port of Chornomorsk.
- Later, the Russian army launched another strike on Odesa Oblast, damaging port infrastructure and emergency service equipment.
