A post by Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán criticising the EU's decision to indefinitely freeze Russian assets has sparked a public argument between Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski and his Hungarian counterpart Péter Szijjártó.

Details: Orbán wrote: "Bypassing Hungary and raping European law in broad daylight, the Brusselians are making moves to seize frozen Russian assets – a declaration of war. Meanwhile, they demand €135 billion more from member states to fuel the conflict. Hungary will not play along in this twisted Brusselian scheme."

After that, Sikorski shared this post, commenting that "Viktor has earned his Order of Lenin".

Szijjártó responded to Sikorski's remark. He wrote: "We understand you really want a Russia vs. Europe war! We will not let ourselves be dragged into your war!!"

Sikorski replied: "Unless Russia invades again there won't be such a war but we understand that this time you would be on her side."

Commenting on Orbán's post, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha called him "Russia's most valuable frozen asset in Europe".

Background: On 12 December, European Union ambassadors approved a decision to freeze Russian assets held in Europe for an indefinite period.
