Rustem Umierov, Secretary of the National Security and Defence Council, has reported that a meeting of the Ukrainian negotiating delegation with American and European partners concluded in the United States on 19 December.

Background:
- Earlier, Umierov announced that he and Andrii Hnatov, Chief of Ukraine's General Staff, would begin another round of consultations with the American side and partners on 19 December.
- Politico reported earlier that Kremlin envoy Kirill Dmitriev is set to visit Miami on 20-21 December for talks with Steve Witkoff and Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner regarding the US "peace plan".
- On Thursday, Trump said he believes that negotiations to end the war in Ukraine were "getting close to something".
