Ukrainian troops have withdrawn from the city of Siversk in Donetsk Oblast, where Russian forces hold a significant advantage in manpower and equipment and continue their offensive.

Quote: "Heavy fighting continues near Siversk. Russian occupiers have a significant advantage in manpower and equipment and, despite substantial losses, continue active offensive operations.

To preserve the lives of our soldiers and the combat capability of our units, Ukrainian defenders have withdrawn from the settlement."

Details: The General Staff said that Russian forces were able to advance due to their numerical superiority and constant pressure from small assault groups in difficult weather conditions.

Meanwhile, the General Staff noted that Siversk remains under fire control by Ukrainian forces.

Background:

On 22 December, the 7th Air Assault Corps reported that Russian forces continued attempts to transport personnel across the Siverskyi Donets River, and the situation in the settlement of Serebrianka has been described as extremely difficult.
According to the DeepState map, as of 22 December, Serebrianka was under Russian control, Siversk was also partially occupied by Russian forces, while the majority of the city remained in the grey zone.
