Russians strike Chernihiv: drone hits apartment building

A Russian drone hit an apartment building in the city of Chernihiv on 24 December, causing a fire.

Details: Russian forces attacked the city at around 16:00. The drone hit the side wall of the fifth floor of the apartment building. The strike caused a fire in a flat, which was promptly extinguished by firefighters.
No casualties were reported, the city council said.
The city authorities have begun inspecting the damage. Early reports indicate that windows were shattered in the building that was hit as well as in a nearby accommodation building. In addition, two cars were damaged and caught fire during the strike.

Chernihivoblenergo reported that several critical energy facilities in the Chernihiv district were damaged due to Russian attacks. Consumers in the city of Chernihiv and a number of settlements in the Chernihiv district have been left without power.
