Russia claims over 140 "Ukrainian drones" attacked its territory overnight

The Russian Defence Ministry has claimed that its air defence systems downed 141 "Ukrainian drones" overnight.

Details: The ministry claimed that the largest number of drones – 65 – had been destroyed over Bryansk Oblast.

It also said that 12 drones had been downed over Tula Oblast, 11 over Kaluga Oblast, 9 over Moscow Oblast, 8 over Adygea Republic and 7 over Krasnodar Krai.
Six drones were allegedly shot down over temporarily occupied Crimea and Russia's Rostov Oblast.
Five or fewer drones were intercepted over Belgorod, Voronezh, Kursk and Volgograd oblasts as well as over the waters of the Sea of Azov.
Background:
- On the night of 24-25 December, drones attacked a port in the town of Temryuk in Russia's Krasnodar Krai, setting fuel storage tanks on fire. The blaze reportedly covered an area of around 2,000 sq m.
- Earlier, the Moscow mayor also reported that eight drones had been destroyed on the night of 24-25 December after attempting to attack the Russian capital.
