US President Donald Trump has said that he knows nothing about the alleged Ukrainian attack on a residence of Russian ruler Vladimir Putin, but will "find out".

Quote: "I just heard about it actually, but I don't know about it. That would be too bad."
Details: Trump later added that Putin had informed him about the alleged attack during a phone call on Monday.
Quote: "President Putin told me about it early in the morning. He said he was attacked. It isn't good. It isn't good. Don't forget the Tomahawks. I stopped the Tomahawks… This is not the right time. It's one thing to be offensive because they are offensive. It's another thing to attack his house. It's not the right time to do any of that." [N.B. Details: When asked whether he had received any evidence of the attack from US intelligence services, Trump said the matter was being clarified.
"You're saying maybe the attack didn't take place. That's possible too, I guess. But President Putin told me this morning it did," he added.
Background:
- Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has claimed that Ukraine carried out a drone strike on Putin's residence on the night of 28-29 December and said this would lead to a revision of Russia's "negotiating position".
- Ukraine has officially denied these claims.
