Russians launch drone attack on two civilian vessels entering port to load wheat

Russian forces used attack UAVs on 30 December to strike the civilian vessels Emmakris III and Captain Karam which were entering a port to load wheat.

Quote: "Ports and civilian shipping are civilian infrastructure. Attacks on them endanger the lives of civilians and undermine global food security."

Background:

• Russia also attacked port infrastructure in Odesa Oblast, with damage recorded at facilities in the ports of Pivdennyi and Chornomorsk.
• Early reports indicate that one person was injured. Storage tanks for oil at one industrial company were damaged. A civilian grain vessel flying the Panamanian flag and located within the port area was also damaged.
