Quote: "Radio interceptions clearly indicated the presence of a 'rat' in one of Kupiansk's districts. He constantly moved and stayed hidden.
The tightly built-up urban area, combined with numerous shelters and potential firing positions, made detecting the enemy a long and painstaking job.
The result: the forward observer was found and taken prisoner."
Details: Ukrainska Pravda has established that these events unfolded in mid-December last year.
The SOF press service said that SOF soldiers had been decorated for their role in defending Kupiansk and successfully completing combat missions along the axis. One operative, who goes by the alias Borysfen, received the Order of Courage, First Class.
