French President Emmanuel Macron has announced that several thousand French troops could be deployed to help maintain peace in Ukraine after a ceasefire is implemented.

Details: Macron said that "several thousand troops" from the French armed forces would take part in operations to monitor the Russia-Ukraine border following the signing of a truce.

He also added that France would participate in rebuilding the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
