Macron: Several thousand troops could be deployed to Ukraine after ceasefire is reached

French President Emmanuel Macron has announced that several thousand French troops could be deployed to help maintain peace in Ukraine after a ceasefire is implemented.

Details: Macron said that "several thousand troops" from the French armed forces would take part in operations to monitor the Russia-Ukraine border following the signing of a truce.

"These forces will not be involved in combat operations," he emphasised.

He also added that France would participate in rebuilding the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
