Details: The ground robotic system is designed to carry out a wide range of military tasks in high-intensity combat conditions.
Quote: "The Zmiy Droid 12.7 ground robotic system was developed by engineers from two Ukrainian arms manufacturers who have significant experience in manufacturing and using ground platforms in high-intensity warfare. The system is built on the Zmiy platform, proven in real combat, and is equipped with the remotely operated Wolly combat module with a 12.7 mm machine gun."
Details: The ministry added that the ground platform has high cross-country capability and can overcome difficult off-road terrain, sand, snow and shallow water obstacles. The platform's hull is armoured, provides protection against anti-personnel mines and can withstand hits from several FPV drones.
Quote: "A feature of the Zmiy Droid 12.7 ground robotic system is its control module, which allows the operator to control the platform and the combat module simultaneously. This reduces decision-making time on the battlefield. The combat module is equipped with artificial intelligence systems, and is capable of acquiring and tracking targets automatically."
Details: The ministry said that such strike ground robotic systems have proven effective in modern warfare. Documented cases include the destruction of a Russian MT-LB multipurpose tracked armoured fighting vehicle.
Background:
- Another example of successful combat use of the Droid TW 12.7 ground robotic system was the holding of a firing position for 45 consecutive days. During this mission, the system was returned to the crew once every two days for a few hours for maintenance, replenishment of ammunition and recharging of the battery.
- Earlier, the Droid NW 40 ground robotic system produced by DevDroid also completed the codification procedure in line with the requirements of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine.
