Details: According to Defence Intelligence sources, Kadyrov is supposedly in his private hospital in Chechnya, where family members have gathered, including relatives who arrived from abroad.
Quote: "Against the backdrop of Ramzan Kadyrov standing at the entrance to Iosif Kobzon's concert hall, the process of identifying a candidate to become the new leader of Chechnya has intensified." [Iosif Kobzon was a famous Russian singer and staunch supporter of the Kremlin who died in 2018. In Russian and Ukrainian political slang, "going to Kobzon's concert" is a sarcastic way of saying that someone has died or is close to death, implying they are about to join Kobzon in the afterlife – ed.]
Background:
- DIU has previously reported on the deterioration or terminal condition of Kadyrov's health, including in official statements.
- In particular, on 15 September 2023, DIU representative Andrii Yusov said that Kadyrov was in a very serious condition.
- Two days later, a personal video of Kadyrov appeared on social media.
