Details: In addition, 17 settlements in Chernihiv and Zakarpattia oblasts have been left without power due to adverse weather conditions. Repair crews are working to rebuild the damaged networks.

Viazovchenko said that distribution system operators in Kyiv and Kyiv Oblast, Odesa Oblast and the city of Dnipro have been forced to introduce power grid restrictions because of the difficult situation in the energy system caused by the attacks.

"Previously published rolling outage schedules in these regions are temporarily not in effect. System restrictions will be lifted immediately after the situation stabilises," he said.

The deputy minister also added that consumers in frontline and border regions remain without power for extended periods as a result of hostilities. The situation there is the most difficult due to constant attacks.

Viazovchenko stressed that Ukraine is experiencing one of the most challenging winters since gaining independence.

Background: Emergency power outages were introduced in the capital and in the Bucha district on the morning of 13 January.
