Quote: "Thanks to the effective combat work of the defence forces, the enemy has for a long time been unable to build up its grouping – because each month we wipe out more Russian soldiers than the aggressor state drafts.

At the same time, we managed to reduce our own personnel losses by 13% throughout 2025."

Details: Syrskyi said that the defence forces prevented the Russians from carrying out their plans, held strategic positions and laid the groundwork for further actions over the course of the year.

Quote: "The Russian aggressor sought to end the war against Ukraine – but planned to end it with a crushing defeat, imposing its terms on us from a position of strength. It tried to seize the remaining territories of Donetsk, Luhansk and Zaporizhzhia oblasts and the right bank of Kherson Oblast and intended to reach Odesa to cut us off from the sea.

We did not allow critical breakthroughs by the enemy, thwarted its plans and repeatedly forced it to postpone the timelines of planned operations. We held on."
