Putin seizes factories from two Western companies

Assets in Russia belonging to Danish company Rockwool and the Polish-US company CanPack have been transferred to Russian companies.

Details: The Moscow Times noted that 100% of Rokvul LLC, a subsidiary of Rockwool, and 68% of Rokvul-Volga LLC, another subsidiary of the Danish manufacturer of thermal insulation materials, have been transferred to the Russian company Razvitiye Stroitelnykh Aktivov JSC (Development of Construction Assets), which was registered in Moscow in autumn 2025.

StalElement, another Russian company, received 100% of Ken-Pak LLC and Ken-Pak Packaging Plant LLC – CanPack's Russian factories that manufacture metal containers.

The decree came into force on the day of its official publication, i.e. on 13 January.

Background: In autumn 2025, it became known that Raiffeisen Bank International had failed in yet another attempt to sell its stake in its Russian business.
