A Russian drone has hit a children's playground in the centre of the city of Lviv on the morning of 15 January. This playground is located near the monument to Stepan Bandera [Stepan Bandera (1909–1959) was a Ukrainian nationalist leader and a key figure in the struggle for Ukraine's independence in the mid-20th century – ed.]

Details: Kozytskyi later added that the drone had hit a children's playground on Stepan Bandera Street in Lviv.

Update: Sadovyi posted a video from the scene.

"The blast wave slightly affected a tractor driver who was clearing snow nearby, but he is fine," the mayor said.

He added that the explosion had also shattered windows at a Lviv Polytechnic University building and in nearby residential buildings.

"Mytropolyta Andreia Street and Sheptytskykh Street have been temporarily closed due to the enemy attack on Lviv. Private and public transport are currently not running there. Trolleybus routes No. 27, No. 32 and No. 38 are temporarily not in service as a result," Sadovyi said.

Updated: The State Emergency Service later said that the UAV strike on a children's playground damaged the shopfront window of the Church of Sts Olha and Elizabeth as well as windows in nearby residential buildings.

Quote: "Emergency workers and bomb disposal were called to the scene and checked the area for explosive hazards. Chemical experts were also deployed and used specialised equipment, which found the concentration of hazardous substances in the air to be under the maximum permissible level."
