Ukrainian air defence downs 61 of 82 Russian drones, 13 locations hit

Russian forces have attacked Ukraine with 82 Shahed (some of them jet-powered), Gerbera, Italmas other types of drones since the evening of 14 January. Ukrainian air defences have managed to destroy 61 drones, but some aerial assets have reached their targets. The assault is ongoing.

Quote: "As of 08:30, [Ukrainian] air defence forces had destroyed or jammed 61 enemy UAVs. Hits by 21 UAVs had been recorded at 13 locations and the fall of downed aerial assets (debris) at 3 locations."
Details: The drones were launched from the Russian cities of Kursk, Oryol, Bryansk, Primorsko-Akhtarsk and Millerovo as well as from Hvardiiske in temporarily occupied Crimea and temporarily occupied Donetsk. About 60 of the UAVs were Shahed loitering munitions.
"Aircraft, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare units, unmanned systems units, and mobile fire groups from Ukraine's defence forces have been involved in repelling the attack," the Air Force noted.
As of 08:40, the attack is ongoing, as several Russian drones are still in Ukrainian airspace.
