Russia attacks Ukraine with 76 drones: air defence downs 53 UAVs, 9 locations hit
Russian forces attacked Ukraine with 76 Shahed (some of them jet-powered), Gerbera and Italmas loitering munitions as well as drones of other types on the night of 15-16 January. About 50 of the UAVs were Shahed loitering munitions.

Details: Early reports indicated that as of 08:30, Ukrainian air defence forces had destroyed or jammed 53 Russian UAVs.
Hits by 19 UAVs had been recorded at 9 locations and the fall of downed aerial assets (debris) at 1 location.
Aircraft, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare units, unmanned systems units and mobile fire groups from Ukraine's defence forces have been involved in repelling the attack.
The attack is ongoing, as several Russian drones are still in Ukrainian airspace.
