Charities from Germany, Switzerland and Czechia helped equip the classrooms.

Construction of the second phase of the school is ongoing.

Quote from Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov: "I saw the children's bright eyes. For some of them, it was the first time they came to a real school. And for that, we will continue building underground learning spaces in every district of Kharkiv so our children have the chance to study.

This year we also plan to begin implementing a project for an underground kindergarten. It will be the first such case in Ukraine."

Background: Since 1 September 2025, seven underground schools have opened in Kharkiv. Six metro stations have been converted into classrooms.
