Ukrainian air defence downs 80 out of 94 Russian drones overnight, strikes recorded at 10 locations

Russian forces attacked Ukraine with 94 Shahed and Gerbera loitering munitions as well as drones of other types on the night of 21-22 January. About 55 of them were Shahed attack drones.

Details: Early reports indicate that by 09:00, Ukrainian air defence units had shot down or jammed 80 Russian Shahed and Gerbera loitering munitions as well as drones of other types.

Hits by 10 attack UAVs had been recorded at 10 locations and downed drones (debris) had fallen at four locations.

The aerial attack is being repelled by aircraft, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare assets, unmanned systems units and mobile fire groups from the Ukrainian defence forces.

The attack is ongoing, as several Russian UAVs are still in Ukrainian airspace.
