Trump considering "duty-free zone" for Ukraine, says envoy Witkoff

US President Donald Trump is considering the establishment of a duty-free zone for Ukraine, which could become a driver of industrial growth as part of the country's post-war recovery.

Quote: "The president has talked about a tariff-free zone from Ukraine that I think would be game-changing."
Details: Witkoff said the model would enable businesses to set up production in Ukraine and gain a competitive edge in the US market thanks to the absence of tariffs.
He also suggested that, if implemented, the idea could lead to a large-scale relocation of industrial companies to Ukraine.
He said these companies could outperform rivals because they would not have to pay tariffs when exporting goods to the United States.
Witkoff made the remarks ahead of a trip to Moscow. The US is engaging with the Kremlin on possible paths to a peaceful resolution of the war in Ukraine.
He is then expected to travel to Abu Dhabi to take part in working groups, particularly on security and economic cooperation.
