Ukrainian government names regions with most difficult energy situation

The most challenging situation in the energy system remains in Kyiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Chernihiv, Sumy and Kharkiv oblasts and the city of Kyiv.

Details: Svyrydenko said more than 160 teams of power engineers, utility and railway workers, including teams seconded from other oblasts, are working around the clock to restore electricity and heat supply.

She emphasised that special attention is being given to supplying Kyiv with backup energy sources and distributed generation facilities.

Quote: "The government is prepared to provide all the necessary support. We expect active work from the city authorities in Kyiv. There should be no obstacles or delays in connecting these facilities to the grid."

Details: Svyrydenko stated that the government has created all the conditions for the rapid and unhindered connection of such facilities to the power grid.

Background: As of the morning of 22 January, consumers in Odesa, Kharkiv and Zaporizhzhia oblasts were left without power due to an overnight Russian attack.
