Presidents of Ukraine and Poland to visit Lithuania on Sunday

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and his Polish counterpart Karol Nawrocki will visit Lithuania on 25 January.

Details: The two leaders, together with Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda, will take part in commemorations marking the anniversary of the 1863-1864 uprising, which was aimed at freeing the peoples of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania and the Kingdom of Poland from the Russian Empire.

This will be Nawrocki's second visit to Lithuania, while Zelenskyy will visit Lithuania for the fifth time since Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Overall, it will be his seventh visit.
Background:
- Nawrocki previously said he planned to meet with Zelenskyy.
- Zelenskyy visited Poland on 19 December, where he met with Nawrocki. The Polish president said at the time that national memory was one of the key issues in the talks between the presidents of Ukraine and Poland in Warsaw and that Poland hopes they will be resolved quickly.
- Zelenskyy described his first bilateral meeting with his Polish counterpart as a good one.
