Background:

  • The Warmth from Poland fundraiser in support of Kyiv raised PLN 5 million in only six days. Originally the organisers had aimed to raise enough money to buy 100 generators and charging stations. However, the campaign quickly gained attention on Polish social media, the target was reached very fast, and donations continued to pour in. The target was subsequently increased several times.
  • Ukraine's Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha recorded a message in Polish thanking everyone who contributed.
  • On 23 January, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk announced that 379 electricity generators and 18 heaters from Poland's Government Agency for Strategic Reserves would arrive in Ukraine in the coming days.
