Quote from the 3rd Army Corps: "We have a working group for each of these areas, they convene regularly and are preparing a new programme. What is the problem? Right now we have a kind of hybrid: we borrowed a [military training] programme from the Americans and overlaid it onto the old Soviet one, which resists innovations."
Details: A source in the 3rd Army Corps told Ukrainska Pravda that the US programme is people-centred and built around mindset and practical examples, while the Soviet approach focuses on weapons and equipment.
Quote from the 3rd Army Corps: "We are trying to combine them. If you criticise something, you have to offer an alternative. That is what we are doing: the two corps are jointly developing a new programme."
More details: Specific doctrinal novelties introduced by the 3rd Corps and Khartiia have not yet been disclosed and are expected to be revealed in late February.
Ukrainska Pravda has learned that the changes are expected to place less emphasis on formal aspects, such as training length, and more on how training is conducted.
Both corps hope the doctrine can eventually be rolled out across all units of the Ukrainian defence forces.
The 3rd Army Corps and Khartiia are currently operating in Kharkiv Oblast, but in separate sectors. The 3rd Army Corps is positioned near Borova, Kharkiv Oblast, and Lyman, Donetsk Oblast, while Khartiia is operating near Kupiansk and Lyptsi, Kharkiv Oblast.Support Ukrainska Pravda on Patreon!
