Up to around 50 Russian troops remain encircled by Ukraine's defence forces in the city of Kupiansk, Kharkiv Oblast.

Details: In response to a follow-up question, Trehubov said Russian forces trapped in Kupiansk are losing personnel at a rate of several per day due to attacks and drone strikes.

Background:

• On 2 February, Trehubov said on the 24/7 national joint newscast that the Russians who had infiltrated Kupiansk in small infantry groups were effectively doomed.
• He noted that the situation for the defence forces on the North Slobozhanshchyna front, particularly in Kupiansk, remains stable and favourable.
