There has also been success in recruiting personnel to staff the newly established interceptor drone units.

Training of additional crews is ongoing. Hundreds of UAV crews have been placed under the operational control of the Air Force, where they carry out missions across the first to third interception lines. At the same time, anti-drone protection is being strengthened for key towns and cities in frontline regions.

Quote: "Short-range air defence is one of the most dynamic and technologically advanced areas of modern warfare. Accordingly, decisions here must be fast, precise and unconventional."

Details: Syrskyi stressed that success in this area does not depend solely on the professionalism and dedication of Ukrainian service members. The pace of work by Ukrainian and European manufacturers and the supply of radar systems, UAVs and interceptor drones from Kyiv's Western partners remain crucial factors. The Russians are constantly adapting their tactics – equipping attack drones with Starlink satellite communication terminals, exploiting adverse weather conditions, and using other battlefield approaches.

The commander-in-chief said additional assets from Army Aviation are also being deployed. Overall, Army Aviation helicopters have destroyed 5,830 Russian aerial assets since the beginning of the war.
