Ukrainska Pravda launches UP 100. Business Award to mark Ekonomichna Pravda's 20th anniversary

- 5 February, 13:33

To mark the 20th anniversary of Ekonomichna Pravda, Ukrainska Pravda is introducing the UP 100. Business Award to recognise 100 business leaders who contribute to developing market relations built on integrity, free competition and open access. Applications are open until 5 March 2026.

UP 100. Business participants are companies who, by their own example, have shown that it is not only possible to run a business in Ukraine without breaking the law but also to succeed while making a meaningful contribution to the country's development.

"Ukrainian business has operated, perhaps, in the most difficult conditions for many years: war, pressure from law enforcement agencies, staff shortages and power cuts. Yet even in this highly unfavourable environment, it continues to attract investors, create jobs and products and support our armed forces. Business is about creating. And without those who create, there can be neither a successful country nor a Ukrainian post-war economy. That is why we want to recognise and inspire these people. Their efforts are seen and valued," said Sevğil Musaieva, Editor-in-Chief of Ukrainska Pravda.

Selection criteria for the award recipients are profitability, job creation and retention, integrity and compliance with ESG standards, covering environmental, social and governance factors. Winners will be chosen by a professional jury and the Ekonomichna Pravda editorial team in the following sectors:

  • IT
  • Miltech
  • Agriculture
  • Industry
  • Energy
  • Construction
  • Retail
  • Finance
  • Services

Small business representatives who share the principles of a market economy, create and sustain jobs and support Ukraine's defence forces and veterans will be recognised separately.

"When Ukrainian companies have additional resources, they often direct them towards supporting the defence forces or those who need help. For this reason, when compiling the list, we pay attention to businesses that, despite operating in an extremely challenging environment, see their role as broader than simply making a profit.

During the war, business often sets additional goals for itself: supporting teams, helping communities, investing in resilience and helping the armed forces. Our aim is to check that our moral compasses point in the same direction and to spotlight business owners and managers whose priorities mirror our values," said Volodymyr Landa, Methodology Lead for the UP 100. Business project and head of investment screening at the Economic Security Council of Ukraine.

The UP 100. Business list will be announced and winners honoured as part of Ekonomichna Pravda's 20th anniversary celebrations on 25 June 2026.
