Details: Lukashenko said that, in the war against Ukraine, "conventional" means of destruction, in his view, continue to play a key role and that consumption of such ammunition is very high. That is why, he said, Belarus decided to create its own production capacity.
Quote: "As before, during the war in Ukraine we see that conventional weapons play a major role – artillery, 152-millimetre ammunition for it, and Grad systems have also proven very effective… Therefore, we made the decision to build the relevant production facilities here that will be able to produce a sufficient quantity of ammunition."
Details: Lukashenko also said Belarus has already established production of its own small-arms cartridges and plans to make its own grenade launcher rounds.
Quote: "At one time we faced the issue of producing our own cartridges – we solved it… Therefore, grenade launcher rounds must be our own."
More details: Lukashenko said such ammunition can be stored in warehouses for a long time and warned his subordinates not to miss the production launch deadlines.
"God forbid you derail this project in terms of deadlines," he said.
