Emergency workers continue to deal with aftermath of Russian strike on Yahotyn for fifth day – photos, video

Emergency workers are continuing to deal with the aftermath of a Russian strike on an industrial facility in Yahotyn in the Boryspil district in Kyiv Oblast, which occurred on 7 February.

Quote: "SES experts continue to carry out extremely hard work under constant danger, significant destruction and difficult conditions. Metre by metre they are removing the remains of the building structures, where some areas are still burning."

Details: Emergency workers explain that the work is significantly complicated by a large number of destroyed metal elements, which must be cut and moved using heavy engineering equipment to reach hidden seats of fire.

In total, over 50 emergency workers and 12 fire appliances are involved in the operation, including three water trucks and two tractors.

Background: On the night of 6-7 February, Russia carried out a large-scale combined strike on Ukraine. As a result of the attack on Yahotyn, a fire broke out at warehouses, destroying a storage facility of finished products belonging to Roshen, a major international confectionery corporation based in Ukraine founded by former Ukrainian president Petro Poroshenko.
