UK to provide Ukraine with 1,000 multirole missiles

The United Kingdom has announced that it will supply Ukraine with an additional 1,000 multirole missiles to strengthen the country's air defence capabilities.

Details: The weapons in question are Lightweight Multirole Missiles (Martlets). The Belfast-manufactured missiles can be launched from various platforms and man-portable air defence systems.
Quote: "[They] will be critical to defending Ukrainian infrastructure and cities from Russia's escalating drone and missile attacks."
Background:
- Earlier, the UK announced an additional £500 million in urgent air defence aid for Ukraine.
- On 12 February, it was reported that the UK is to join in purchasing US weapons for Ukraine under the Prioritised Ukraine Requirements List (PURL) programme.
