Ukraine's International Legions fully integrated into assault units
The Ground Forces Command has reported that the international legions of Ukraine's defence forces have been integrated into assault units, calling it a logical step.

Quote: "Foreign volunteer units are not disappearing. They are transforming to become stronger. Instead of remaining separate 'light' battalions, they are being integrated into effective and experienced Ground Forces units."
Details: The Ground Forces consider this a logical step because legionnaires are servicemen of special forces battalions within the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The command also recalled that assault operations and counter-sabotage missions are what the legions' personnel have been doing since the first days of their establishment.
"The integration into other units does not reduce their level but, on the contrary, increases capabilities, provides better protection for servicemen on the battlefield and strengthens support with unmanned systems, artillery and aerial reconnaissance. Foreign units have gained access to the resources and logistics of regular formations," the statement said.
The Ground Forces stressed that combat tasks for the personnel of the international legions remain unchanged and the soldiers continue operating on the relevant axes – in the same areas and under the same conditions.
"The only difference is enhanced support, which significantly increases their combat resilience. Legion servicemen have also gained opportunities for professional development and retraining – as UAV operators, artillerymen, reconnaissance soldiers or specialist military personnel in rear-echelon positions in line with their competencies," the military said.
Background: There are three combat international legions and one training legion within the Armed Forces of Ukraine. According to Ukrainska Pravda, Legion 1 joined the 475th Assault Regiment Code 9.2 and Legion 2 joined the 253rd Assault Regiment Arei.
